Some love stories begin with grand gestures. Others begin with a school dance.

For Mackenzie and Jack, it all started back in 10th grade at a dance. Thanks to a very determined mutual friend who happily took on the role of wingman, two high school students who had no idea what the future held were introduced. Seven years later, after growing up together through every season of life, Jack asked Mackenzie to marry him just a few days after celebrating their seventh anniversary.

And now, they're counting down the days until they become husband and wife.

We met these two at one of Rochester's most iconic engagement session locations—Highland Park. Between the blooming gardens, winding paths, and the golden evening light filtering through the trees, it couldn't have been a more beautiful backdrop for their story.

Like many couples, Mackenzie and Jack admitted they were a little nervous before stepping in front of the camera. They wanted their photos to feel natural, but weren't quite sure how to create those "candid" moments on their own. The truth is, that's exactly why we're there. Our job isn't to make you pose—it's to help you simply enjoy being together. Before long, the nerves disappeared, conversations replaced the silence, and the laughter became completely genuine.

Some of our favorite images from the evening came from those unscripted moments—walking hand in hand through the gardens, sharing quiet smiles, and laughing at one another as they explored one of Rochester's most beautiful parks.

One detail we absolutely loved learning about this couple is their personal motto: "Ready To Rumble." It's a playful nod to Jack's last name, but it has become so much more than that. It perfectly captures their relationship—ready to take on every adventure, every challenge, and every new chapter together. It's fun, it's memorable, and it fits them perfectly.

As they look ahead to their Fourth of July wedding, they envision a day that's filled with meaningful emotion and unforgettable celebration. They hope their ceremony feels reverent and heartfelt—a moment where they can truly soak in the commitment they're making to one another. Then, once they walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, they're ready to celebrate with the people they love most, filling the rest of the day with energy, joy, and plenty of dancing.

After spending an evening with these two, we have no doubt that's exactly how their wedding day will unfold.

Mackenzie and Jack, thank you for trusting us to tell this part of your story. We can't wait to celebrate with you next summer and capture the beginning of your greatest adventure yet.
