Some love stories are written slowly — woven together through quiet moments, long distances, and the kind of connection that feels destined from the very beginning. Dominick and Michaela’s story is one of those rare kinds of love: adventurous, intentional, and deeply rooted in faith.

They met in May of 2021 and officially began dating on June 4th with a first date that could not have been more fitting for them — a hike. From the very start, their relationship was built on exploration, laughter, and a shared love for the outdoors. The mountains became a backdrop to their growing love story, a place where they could simply be together.

But theirs was never the easy kind of love.

At one point, Michaela was living in Scotland while Dominick was living in Hawaii — two completely different corners of the world separated by oceans, time zones, and thousands of miles. Yet somehow, distance only strengthened what they already knew: they had found something worth holding onto.

Their relationship became one built on intention. On choosing each other over and over again. On faith, patience, and the understanding that love is not measured by proximity, but by commitment.

Together, they’ve explored places like Italy and Portugal, wandered mountain trails near their childhood homes in the Hudson Valley, and found beauty in every season of life they’ve shared. And somewhere along the way, the Thousand Islands became part of their story too. Michaela’s family home there became a kind of sanctuary for them — a home away from home where time slowed down, the water stretched endlessly around them, and some of their sweetest memories were made - which is why they wanted their wedding at the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY.

No matter where life has taken them — across countries, coastlines, or quiet corners of New York — they have continued finding their way back to each other. And that, more than anything, is what makes their love story so beautiful.
